Aruma Lodge

Aruma Lodge is a 58-bed facility. Aruma Lodge services include respite. The facility has a separate dining room and fully equipped kitchen which prepares freshly cooked meals for residents. There are care staff to assist residents 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. A registered nurse is available Monday to Friday.

Fees

You may be asked to pay one or more of the following fees in residential care:

  • A basic daily fee: this covers living costs such as meals, cleaning, laundry heating and cooling. Everyone entering an aged care home can be asked to pay this fee. The maximum basic daily fee is 85% of the single person rate of the basic Age Pension. For some people this is the only fee they are required to pay. Daily care fees alter twice a year in line with the increase of the aged pension. All residents and their representatives will be notified of any fees changes directly from the Department of Human Services.

  • A means-tested care fee: this is an additional contribution towards the cost of care that some people may be required to pay. The Department of Human Services will work out if you are required to pay this fee based on an assessment of your income and assets, and will advise you of the amount.

  • An accommodation payment: this is for your accommodation in the aged care home. Some people will have their accommodation costs met in full or in part by the Australian Government, while others will need to pay the accommodation price agreed with the aged care home. The Department of Human Services will advise you which applies to you based on an assessment of your income and assets.

  • Additional service fee: this is an additional daily fee which includes hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, big screen TV, premium soap and body range, weekly happy hour. Newspaper and Magazines are available in the common room
